MAWAGE. MAWAGE is wot bwings us togever tooday. MAWAGE, that bwessed awangment.

Okay 10 cool points if you know what movie that is!

But really, marriage is what brings us here today. You are here to find out the top ten 5-year anniversary gifts for your husband, oh and they are all from Amazon.

Congratulations on your 5 years of marriage

My husband and I recently celebrated our 5 years, and it’s been a wild ride. Fun fact to share, while we have only been married 5 years, we have been together for almost 25. We had some hiccups for sure, some break ups and make-ups, but in the end found our way back to each other.

Marriage, a successful one, requires WORK. It takes patience, compromise and intentional love.

Now that we have our son, romantic moments and carefree days are almost non-existent. But holidays, birthday and anniversaries are the perfect opportunities to remind each other of that love.

In this post I want to share 10 gift ideas you can give your husband to do just that.

The 5th Year Anniversary Gift

The Year of Wood

The traditional gift for the 5-year Anniversary is wood, which symbolizes the durability of your relationship.  According to the website Brides.com a modern gift can be flatware or Sapphire, but I kind of like the idea of keeping with tradition. Not to mention, flatware or gemstones usually aren’t on the top of the “want list” for my hubs!

Initially I didn’t quite know what to get as a wood gift. But was pleasantly surprised at the options available! And everything is available on Amazon making life that much simpler.

As much as I do love going to a store and picking out a personal gift, time is hard to come by, and Amazon just has endless options.  No matter what kind of personality your husband has, rustic, modern, athletic, I got you covered.

I listed the items according to price, with a range of $20-$100. There is something for any budget! Make a cup of coffee, get comfy and check out some great wood gift ideas!

Oh, and don’t worry, they aren’t too sappy! (See what I did there, beware- more puns ahead!)

Ten Awesome 5-year Anniversary Gifts for Your Husband From Amazon

1. ENGRAVED POCKET KNIFE $ 21

Pocket knives are a great tool to have on hand. Of course, they are great for fishing or hunting. But they can be used for so much more.

Check out some other cool uses I read about on Gear Hungry

  • Opening boxes
  • Sharpening pencils (any architect hubby’s out there?)
  • Whittling (wood hobbyist)
  • Cleaning car battery terminals
  • Removing staples
  • Freeing an accident victim
  • Opening a bottle or cans
  • To defend yourself (hopefully not)

There are so many ways to put a pocketknife to good use. This style of knife is about 5 inches long, has a belt clip and is personalized with a sweet message.

“I Love You”, “Always & Forever” or a name can be engraved in the handle of the knife, making it a bit more of a romantic gift.

2.WOOD WATCH $25

“A gentleman’s choice of timepiece says as much about him as does his Saville Row suit.”

 – Ian Fleming

Wood watches. I didn’t even know they existed, but they are really cool! This a great option for someone with a metal allergy, or just for a unique watch style.

If you search wood watches, you will find most of them are constructed using wood for the face and the band. The Cucol watch on the other hand has a leather band, making it look more refined.

It could easily pair with a jeans or a suit. Gifted in a walnut case, it also has a beautiful engraving on the back of the watch face.

It reads: To my dear husband, I love you. Your smiling eyes are just like the sparkling stars, hanging on the curtain of my heart. Always and Forever, Love You.

What I love is that this personal and romantic message is only something your honey will see. A sweet and secret message to let him know you love him. Other people will see a stylin’ watch, and he will see your loving heart.

3. Flask and bottle opener $25

Party Time! This may look like a gift for him but can end up being a treat for you both! Keeping a little sip of sumthin nearby might not be such a bad idea. Fun way to spice up an otherwise dull night, within reason of course.

This 6-ounce flask is stainless steel and wrapped with a mahogany flag.  And the bottle opener is credit card size fitting perfectly in a wallet.  The patriotic theme is great for someone of service be it military, police or fire. Each set is hand-crafted in Idaho, and no two are alike.

Kind cool right?

4. WOOD DIGITAL ALARM CLOCK $26

Okay, I know a clock seems kind of boring and not so sexy but before you skim on past this option, let me tell you a few cool things about it.

Not only can you use this as an alarm clock, but it doubles as a wireless phone charger. In addition to that the LED light brightness is customizable from 0-100% brightness. I love a pitch-black room for sleeping.

You can also adjust the volume and set a weekday alarm or an everyday alarm. The light bamboo color is super stylish and modern and would complement any bedroom.

Most of us use our phones for everything, including an alarm clock. But there have been times my alarm hasn’t gone off, or my phone was under a pillow after late night Instagram surfing, bad habit!

Pair this clock with a sentimental card and cute message.

Something like; A gift to help count the hours, the minutes, the seconds, of a lifetime with you!

5. Wooden Beer Mug $26

How cool is this mug?

Even if your guy isn’t a beer aficionado, this makes a great gift. I could see my husband using this as a coffee mug, he drinks a lot of coffee!

Hand crafted with oak, this mug holds 20 ounces of your favorite drink and is lined with a stainless-steel cup. A wood mug paired with hubby’s favorite snacks and a 6 pack of lager all tucked into a basket would be a welcome gift.

Why not go a step further grab a special IPA like this one, called Wood Chipper. The Wood Chipper IPA is brewed in Fargo North Dakota but is available nationwide.

I love the idea of a themed gift basket!

6. WOOD SUNGLASSES $29

These sunglasses kind of a shady gift! Sorry, couldn’t help the pun! My mom is the queen of puns, and I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. But on the real, these sunglasses were something I purchased for my hubs as part of his anniversary gift.

Like the wood watch, it’s cool and unique style of an otherwise ordinary accessory. When I was looking for wood sunglasses, I saw several with wood frames and arms, but this pair of Woodies stood out. They mimic a pair of Ray Ban’s with the sleek black frame, and then have these rustic wood arms.

The lenses are polorized and 100% UVA/UVB protected and come with  a FREE Carrying Case, Lens Cloth, and Wood Guitar Pick. The best part about these is the fit. My husband has a larger head, and generally has a hard time finding sunglasses that don’t leave a mark so to speak.

Woodies have a double spring hinge and the arms curve out  slightly, allowing a great fit for any head size. Now I better switch topics, because all of this Woodie and head talk is just getting awkward!

There are way too many jokes there!

7. PHONE DOCKING STATION $29

Not the most exciting gift, but hard to get too exciting with “wood gifts”. I know what you’re thinking, let’s just not go there. I’m still shaking off all that Woodie talk!

Okay, moving on!

The reason I love this option is that it’s unique. This phone docking station holds so much more than just a phone

It can be home for pair of glasses, keys, a wallet, a ring, a watch, headphones, a pen, extra coins and more. I love the idea of this on a nightstand or a desk.

The design is so simple and functional and would be a great one stop shop for all your hubby’s items.

8. DOG TABLE LAMP $49

Any dog lovers out there?

How cute is this little lamp

It’s cute, but still being masculine with it’s boxy style. All the joints are adjustable, so you can position the pooch any way you want! The lamp also has 3 brightness settings, is made with ash wood and has a sleek power/dimmer button on the head.

At just over a foot tall, this lamp would be a charming addition to a home office, or a nightstand.

9. WOOD CIGAR CASE $99

A great gift for a smokin’ hubby 😉

Now we finally have more of a sexy gift, at least your hubby might think so. My husband loves to have an occasional cigar, and since it’s more of a random occurrence, this is a great way to store them.

Made with Spanish cedar, it is the only humidor on the market with a built-in digital thermometer.

A large glass top beautifully displays your cigar collection and its equipped with an accessory drawer to keep lighters and cutters. The humidor is designed with a magnetic closure, and comes with a hydro stick and humidifying gel, to keep those smokes perfectly seasoned

The design is sleek, modern, and elegant, suitable for any high class man cave!

10. PERSONALIZED CLOCK $99

Lastly, we have another clock, BUT this is far different than an alarm clock

Measuring 8”x12”, this clock is engraved with your favorite photo. I am a sucker for a personalize gift, especially when it includes a picture.

In fact, this article from the Huffington Post by Gretchen Rubin explains why photos boost our happiness!

“Photos remind us of the people, places, and activities we love.”

Capturing that moment and etching into art is a perfect way to honor your husband and your marriage.

The art of creating this clock so interesting. Using PYROGRAPHY, the picture is burned into the wood, versus using a laser or engraving, and creates a higher quality image.

Made with Birch Plywood, this clock can be hung or displayed tabletop using an easel support. In addition to your personal photo, you can also add a loving message. Even if you decide this isn’t the right gift for your anniversary, it could make a great Father’s Day gift.

This clock is one picture perfect gift if you ask me!

BONUS GIFT

Vow Gift/DIY Project

So, this last idea is a DIY gift, is heartfelt, and budget friendly. Before I get into this special project, I wanted to share a bit more of why I made this.

As I mentioned earlier, my husband and I have been together for long time! History is a blessing and a curse at times. Even the best of couples have their hardships. In fact, it’s the most successful couples that encounter and overcome hardships.

It ain’t easy!

I am sure you can relate. And our challenges may be different, but the road to recovering and rebuilding a relationship is remarkably similar!

Of course, both people must be willing to do the work. But with commitment and effort, it can be done. I am working on another post to highlight what has helped us save our relationship, so stay tuned for that.

One tip we have found helpful, is to look at your spouse as you did when you first met. We try and remind ourselves of the reasons we fell in love and this really helps reconnect us. It can be done is so many ways, but in this instance, I chose to make a gift that included our wedding vows.

We both wrote our own vows, separately, but they were eerily similar. It was a reminder to us both of how connected our love was and re-reading them brought a flood of emotions for us both.

It was the perfect way to honor our marriage for this 5th Anniversary.

To make this DIY Vow Display, all I used is 3 frames, vows printed on pretty paper, and this wood artwork I found from the front of an Anniversary card. I bought the card from a local drugstore, and while I didn’t find the exact card online, I did find the same artwork on this Valentine’s Card!

It was super easy to make, and cost all of $35 for everything.

A word of caution though, while I do like the look of the frames, they use plexiglass instead of real glass. A detail I overlooked but wanted to mention incase you are considering making something similar! Here is another similar option using glass.

Our vow’s now sit over our bed and are the perfect reminder of why we got married, the promises we made to each other, and the love we have.
